Slugger, Michael/Jan, little league, PG
emjay; love in an elevator

"Michael, sit down."

"Michael, he's not pitching. Sit down."

Michael Scott sat down with a huff and glared over at his wife. "Y'know, you're taking all the fun out of this for me."

Jan, meanwhile, was busy eyeing the glares she was receiving from the other people in the stands. "Well Michael, I unfortunately have to take the fun out of it for you, because you're taking the fun out of it for everyone else."

"Oh fine. I just don't see what's so bad about being enthusiastic."

"There's enthusiasm, Michael, and then there's just plain psychosis."

"Well now you're just splitting hairs."

Jan sighed and rolled her eyes, twisting her wedding ring on her finger as she silently counted off Michael's good points. She was only past the second one when he stood up again.

"Atta boy, Slugger! Sit down on that base. That'll show 'em."

"Michael, don't encourage that kind of behavior."

"What? Like there's something in the rules about sitting down on the base to prevent the other players from reaching it?"

"Jim! Get off the base!" came the laugh from the coach.

"Sorry Jim!" the little boy called back, his grin filled with gaps from missing baby teeth.

The coach laughed and turned around, leaning against the fence that separated him from Michael and Jan. "Remind me why I signed up to be little league coach again?"

Jan smiled at her husband's inadvertent protege. "The overwhelming affection you feel for your namesake."

Jim Halpert laughed and straightened his baseball cap over his mop of brown hair. "Oh yeah, that's right." Returning to his coaching, he grinned and called out once more, "Come on, Jimbo! Up off the base and I'll buy you ice cream after the game!"

The little boy had a hard time standing still for the rest of the game at the prospect of ice cream. Like father like son, Jan couldn't help but think as she looked over at her equally-excited husband.

"Ice cream, Jan! Did you hear?"

She just patted his arm and threw an apologetic smile at the other parents. "Yes, Michael. I heard."

{Office} OT4

Ok, honestly, my first thought was that he was totally talking to Jim Halpert and they were having like, an office game or something. But this was soooo much better!

I LOVE THIS. To freakin' pieces!

And I LOVE that they named their son Jim. It is like, perfect in my happy little world! And that Jim is his little league coach. AMAZING!

This was just fantastic. It makes me giggle happily. Thank you babe. You kick ass!

Totally adorable. I don't even know what else to say--I love that Michael gives pitching instructions to his son who is not pitching. And I love that he named him Jim, after Jim. So Michael. Great job!
